Interactive Whiteboard Market Leader Wins ASTech Award for Outstanding Achievements in Science and Technology
Three-time award winner, SMART Technologies Inc., recognized for exceptional commercial achievements
Calgary, AB --- December 9, 2002 --- SMART Technologies Inc., the interactive whiteboard industry pioneer and market leader, has been awarded a 2002 ASTech Award for Outstanding Commercial Achievement. Presented by the Alberta Science and Technology (ASTech) Leadership Foundation, this award recognizes outstanding entrepreneurial achievement and honors businesses that have made a significant contribution to the science and technology community in Alberta. This marks the third time SMART has won an ASTech Award – with previous distinctions in 1992 and 1997, a record in ASTech history.
The Outstanding Commercial Achievement Award is presented to a company based on its business growth, market penetration, unique technology, management style, and technological and financial risk-taking. Award recipients are selected by an independent panel of judges composed of professionals from the advanced technology, research and business communities.
